Tom Ferrens – Pastor

Tom Ferrens, a Brooklyn, New York native, has more than 25 years of faith-based leadership, education and counseling experience, serving various ministries including Bethel Gospel Assembly, Anchor House Ministry, Hampton Roads Gospel Assembly, and Restoration Christian Fellowship. The founder and executive director of New Life Community Development Transitional Housing in Brooklyn, NY, Tom organized and managed the residential and educational operations, successfully helming a key component of the social, spiritual and professional rehabilitation of individuals seeking to get back on their feet and advance in their lives. Tom also earned certification in Christian ministry via Dave Batty’s prestigious Teen Challenge curriculum, and has completed studies at the Manhattan Bible Institute.
As Director of Well of Hope and Restoration Ministries, Tom has worked to follow God’s call on his life to aid men with life-controlling issues including drug addiction, homelessness and alcohol abuse and to show them the joy and fulfillment of pursuing a walk with Christ.
Currently he is an exemplary support staff leader at the Union Mission. Tom resides with his wife Anita in Suffolk, Virginia where they enjoy traveling, cooking, ministry, and spending time with their six children and six grandchildren.
